Hi,
I also need a zip of the latest asp3 - I sent Adrian an email but no reply.
hey, I'm worried. Is AsPro dead?
It's been really quiet here. Is V3 available for download yet? How can I test the new script?
thanks!
Hey,
any news on V3 ? :-D
Hi,
will V3 allow me to transmux all my mp4 videos to HLS streaming? Maybe in a background cron job :-D
thanks
Mike
hey. thanks!
I tried that but still no luck. it appears that all new videos from the past 11 months have not been included in the index.
what could be other possible reasons for that please?
Hi,
I wonder if there is a new query for the sphinx search. Problem is, on my site, newer videos don't seem to be indexed anymore for search. Even if videos contain search terms in title and description, the result of search is empty.
Is there a way I can have sphinx re-index videos?
thanks!
awesome!!!
Hi,
we have a little problem on our webserver with too many apache calls.
Is there a way we can serve static images and css files via nginx instead of apache and how would it work?
We have a separate video server so video files aren't the problem.
thanks!!
Thanks for the reply! I'm not quite sure I understood how this works. All videos on my sites are mp4 only. However Nuevoplayer itself seems to be Flash-based, which means desktop users need to have Flash installed, or it needs to have permission to run. (A lot of users seem to struggle with Flash permissions and ask for help)
So I was hoping to use a non-Flash video player to playback mp4 files. What I like about Nuevo are the thumb-previews and logo-insertion in the embedded player (don't need the logo on the website player). Is there a non-flash (html5) version of the player with the same features?
thanks!! :-D
Hey,
I'm getting a lot of support mails recently from Mac users, saying that videos don't play back anymore. This is largely due to the recenet macOS update, which is slowly trying to ban Flash altogether. As it's only a matter of time until Flash is no longer supported anywhere, is there a way to configure Nuevoplayer in a way that it would try to display HTML5 first on Desktop computers?
Currently it's only a fallback option but in most cases there is some kind of Flash version installed, which is either broken or blocked. Yet Nuevoplayer is trying to use Flash first.
Is that somehow possible? I personally don't like Flash either :-D
Hi Adrian,
about that, I have a site running on old version 1.6 and sometimes a video doesn't get converted properly (queued). However, all other videos that were uploaded afterwards don't get converted either. Is there a setting that if a video is messed up, that the script will continue with the next one? right now it just stops converting totally :-(
has this "bug" been fixed?
I tried to schedule a video for a certain time but when it got released, it was released at the time the video was added.
Two more suggestions for v3:
Playlists - but with continuous full-screen playback. Would love to offer that as a premium feature. Many small clips combined to an entertaining show. Also there should be playlist management in admin panel. There are so many public 1-clip-only playlist that clutter that section on the website that people don't want to use them. Also a featured-playlist would be nice
Photos - maybe a long shot but how about a photos module in the style of pinterest? use boards instead of albums. most uploaded pics are single, so the album structure makes users click 5 times before actually seeing a pic. Maybe a js-pin button to post directly to the site from other sources.
The ability to quickly and easily share images back and forth will result in a boost in popularity. As a module like this would be structured differently than the current one, maybe you could offer it as a premium plugin?
yes, in user search. but it's only semi-important to me :-D
thanks!! found it :-D
Hi,
I've read that it's somehow possible to upload videos and let them appear later. However I couldn't find how to do it.
Even in admin panel when I add videos, there is no field where I can set a time when the video is supposed to be released.
Am I missing something or has this feature been discontinued?
thanks
ok thanks! so if I suspend a user I don't need to also lock him
Hi,
what's the difference between suspending or locking a user in user management (admin panel)?
with 'truncated search' I mean that we can look for incomplete emails, incomplete usernames. but sorted by starting with the shortest match.
currently if it's not a real match, I get stuck with thousands of results
ok very nice. could you also add an option to display more than 10 videos per page in admin?
other things I'd find very nice:
- allow truncated search in admin (videos, users email, username)
- playlist content management
- sort users by amount of uploaded videos
thanks!!
what I'd really like to see in admin panel is a quick "unflag" button. in case a video is flagged for no real reason, it takes many clicks to actually unflag it to get it off the list.
Also, it would be nice if admins can modify/delete playlists from panel :-D
ok I did some research. apparently rtmp is the challenge here. It works on desktop but not on mobile (mobile only understands html5).
I have a separate video server. What I want to achieve is that regardless of mobile/desktop device, that video playback and download comes directly from the video server and not via the app server (to save on i/o).
would this work with multi-server setup with aspro? I'd like to avoid that when a user watches a video which is stored on my media server is still served through the app server.
