Thanks symtab, Iv''e taken Pikeypete's offer with the dedi so now im Happily emailing hostgator to cancel my shitty VPS with them.
I advise anyone who wants to open a VPS account with hostgator to build tube sites not to! ...YOU WILL have to order extra add-on's (Full FFMpeg install $75) to enable videos to stream on ya site!

EDIT... Plus there support Sucks!!

I really like the sound of that, trouble is i dont have a paypal acc. Just my CC. Should i open a paxum account and pay you that way?

#28 Re: Troubleshooting » System Check » 2011-05-17 20:42:24

I have cPanel installed on my VPS

#29 Re: Troubleshooting » System Check » 2011-05-17 20:40:20

Really? Thing is i really dont know all this server stuff and its messy stuff to try and learn. Here is my chat with hostgator when trying to ask about the installation for the PHP CLI Path...

Hostgator: It should already be installed. You just have to go into shell and type php command.
Simmo: sorry i dont understand that?
Simmo: what is shell?
Hostgator: It's kind of like a back end into your VPS. We do not support it over the phone or in Live Chat. You would need to ask support@hostgator.com if you need more information that that.

So as well as having FFMpeg problems with them and them wanting to charge me extra $75 for a Full FFMpeg installation ive now got to contact support for this aswell?  ...I just want to start building my ASP up lol !

This dedicated server sounds interesting but iv'e got a feeling it might confuse me even more. I just want to upload the site and press play. Is this possible?

Thanks again smile

Ill get onto them again, its hostgator who im with and i took out there level 3 VPS and at the time they assured me that i could run this script!

I just had to ask them for a free FFMpeg install which i've now got to wait for an available admin to install the script. Thanks pete ill report how it goes.

#31 Re: Troubleshooting » System Check » 2011-05-17 19:32:51

thanks Pete i went to the server tab and noticed that /usr/bin/php is already in that field. I hit save anyway and system check still shows same message?

"PHP Cli >= 5.2 (/usr/bin/php)
PHP CLI (>= 5.2) binary is required. Video uploads, video conversion, video importing, video embedding and other important features will not work without the PHP CLI binary!"

Hi, I see this message on my system check page...

PHP Cli >= 5.2 (/usr/bin/php)
PHP CLI (>= 5.2) binary is required. Video uploads, video conversion, video importing, video embedding and other important features will not work without the PHP CLI binary!

Is this something i need to sort out on my VPS?

Thanks.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated on what i'd need to make sure of before i launch my ASP to the public...?

Besides me entering the usual, Keywords + Meta into the site and pages etc, my knowledge is limited as this is a first site like this i have done.

Im in no way ready for the big day yet but as im adding content and sorting out all seo tasks it would be nice to check back here to find out what others have done to make things run as smoothly as poss from the start to launch...

When do you know your ready for the launch? - When you have your videos, Pics + few things up in your forum?

When did you decide to add the Payment Plan? - When you are already established or straight from the word GO?

How i get my file manager running boss? big_smile

#39 Re: Troubleshooting » Advertising » 2011-05-16 18:22:47

Header ads now showing and i dont have to press reset anymore either, its all sorting itself out as i go along...

Maybe im just too impaitent wink

#40 Re: Troubleshooting » Advertising » 2011-05-16 17:47:03

When i press reset it shows my working ads all ok in the admin but its tempermental... if i click somewhere else in admin then come back to the advertising manager it shows no results until i press reset again. This happens on random occasions not all the time.

I have my footer ad working fine @ 728 x 90 but im putting the same size banner in the header ad spot and its not showing for me at all on the site. Tried smaller ones too but no luck.

Oh 1 last thing... how do you guys get the template to have the live webcam stream on index? I want one!!

#41 Re: Troubleshooting » Advertising » 2011-05-16 17:29:11

Thankyou that has worked for me. Ill be catching you lot up in no time! wink
