Advertising

I tried to add two banners as a test, one to the left under the categories and a small one to the bottom of the index. However when I click on "Advertising" I get presented with "No advertising found!", so basically I can't edit or remove the test ads that I placed.
Any pointers?

Thank you.  smile

Pete.

Re: Advertising

The search for advertising is cached in the administration panel, meaning that what you search will be displayed until you click the reset button. This should fix the problem. If this is not the case, then i have to check via FTP.

Re: Advertising

It's not the search I'm referring to.
Admin panel > Advertising Tab = "No advertising found!"
Whereas earlier I could see the first test listed under the "Advertising" tab, it was when I added the footer test ad on the index that oddly enough the two advertisement listings vanished.
I cleared the cache, still the same results.

Edit:
I took screenshots:

Ok, I added an advertisement on the "frontpage bottom" here:
29f9n49.jpg

Then I IMMEDIATELY clicked the "manage" tab and get nothing found, when you can see in the first screenshot that it clearly states in green that the advertisement banner was added:

See what I mean?
It's like it doesn't save it.
I still have the two ads showing on my index but nothing in the Admin panel, weird.
Would access to the Admin panel help?

Re: Advertising

Pikeypete,

When you go to Admin -> Advertising -> Search

Should be: Name: (Blank) Group: (All)  Status: (All)  Sort: (doesn't matter)  Order: (doesn't matter) Display: (doesn't matter)

Used to happen to me where some of the search preferences were making it so "Manage" showed none of my ads. Even after a cache clear. Double check the search settings as they affect the "Manage" tab.

I did that, first thing I actually tried before putting my dilemma here on the forum.
Even though it's still in beta I try to figure it out myself before requesting assistance.
Thank you for your advice and help in the matter though, it's appreciated  smile

@ Adrian; sent.

Thanks guys.

Re: Advertising

Well, I cleared the cache a couple of times and it fixed it, oddly enough I'd already tried that.
Good thing is it's working perfectly now  wink
I think when you sent me the script you sent me a demon in the RAR just to piss me off  lol

Re: Advertising

Wait...the cache shouldnt affect the admin panel at all. The cache can affect the frontend, but not the admin panel.

Re: Advertising

You dont see any banners in admin? (eg: Admin -> Advertising)? If thats the case? click on Search and then click the Reset button.

Re: Advertising

When i press reset it shows my working ads all ok in the admin but its tempermental... if i click somewhere else in admin then come back to the advertising manager it shows no results until i press reset again. This happens on random occasions not all the time.

I have my footer ad working fine @ 728 x 90 but im putting the same size banner in the header ad spot and its not showing for me at all on the site. Tried smaller ones too but no luck.

Oh 1 last thing... how do you guys get the template to have the live webcam stream on index? I want one!!

Re: Advertising

No. Its a design mistake i made. I need to specify in the admin panel, when a search is running so that users know that they searched something. The search is saved, so next time you open the same page, instead of displaying all ads, it will display the search results, in your case: none. I will make a yellow message popup in the final version.
