Hi,
This howto is intended to help in the configuration of the premium module. Its valid only for 1.0RC4 as in 1.0 the features and configuration changed.
Go to Admin -> Extend -> Module Manager and click on the config icon. The configuration is split into tabs:
Main:
* Browse Page Access: set the access level to browse the premium videos
* View Page Access: set the access level to view (only the page, not the video playing) premium videos
* Player Page Access: set the access level to actually watch premium videos
Player:
** if you dont plan on limiting the premium videos to a certain number of seconds before showin the premium image, just clear every feature out (make the fields empty)
* Video Duration: number of secodns to play from the entire video before showing the below image over the player
* Popup Image URL: image that appears once the video has reached a certain number of seconds
* Pre-Roll URL: the URL of a image to show as pre-roll
* Pre-Roll Duration: the number of seconds to show the pre-roll image
The above features should be combined with a flash media server (wowza, adobe flash server, red5) for maximum of security.
Advanced:
* Browse Access Redirect - absolute URL For a page to redirect when browse premium is restricted (can be a tour you create or /premium/register/)
* View Access Redirect - absolute URL to redirect when the video view access is limited (usually /premium/register/)

Do you have a how to or best practice for setting up and integrating any of the flash media servers (such as red5 since it's open source)?

The problem with RED5 is that it doesnt support MP4 (because of the copyright). You need to install red5, configure it, get a application to stream your flv and mp4 (some old versions of red5 support mp4 also) and from there its easy to configure flowplayer to play videos from RTMP.
