Does anyone have a how to on setting up a red5 flash server and integrating it into ASPro for the premium content setup as suggested in the Premium Module setup How To?

Thanks....

Do you have a how to or best practice for setting up and integrating any of the flash media servers (such as red5 since it's open source)?

thanks...

Currently, there really isn't an area within Videos to see an actual in-process (conversion) queue. Meaning... say you use bulk ftp upload. You really can't see all of the videos that were uploaded and where in the process queue they are expect when they are converted and then only one other video show's up in the video list stating that it's converting. The video list doesn't show every video that was uploaded and it's still pending. Does that make sense?

maybe some grid that list every video that was uploaded and it's status. Pending, Converting, Completed.

Thanks..

Do you have an actual How To on setting up the functions that you list are available out of the box? I can't seem to find any actual instructions on it.

Thanks...

#5 Re: Troubleshooting » We're sorry, the page you requested cannot be found! after bulk FTP » 2012-03-08 07:30:22

Yes.. expect for what I sent support @ an email about earlier. I was getting a strange SQL error (sent you an email about it earlier today).

From what I can tell, they do convert.

The script (out of the box) can do the following: allow users to watch xx seconds (or minutes) of a premium video and after that display a banner and ask to register as a premium member. Only premium members can watch full premium videos. In order for this to be secure (it is even without this, no idea of the percentage exactly, but advanced users can tacle around the xxx seconds limit) you need to use a flash media server (adobe media server, red5, wowza...).

To do exactly what you want, you will need to hire a programmer to make the changes that you want.

Any suggestions on programmers that understand ASP and can work within the framework?

Looking for a How To to get the following accomplished:

1 - I want users to only be able to view about 1 to 2 minutes of the videos free of without the necessity to register
2 - to see more of the video, say 5 minutes, I want users to register with a validated email address. So registered users could see about 5 minutes of the videos on the site.
3 - to see the full video I want to the user to purchase a site subscription OR to be able to buy just that video (pay per view/pay per download).

What's the best way to tackle the above?

Thanks...

Immediately after bulk FTP upload (well.. if you count 6, 100MB videos as "bulk") the page refreshes to a standard front end page that says - We're sorry, the page you requested cannot be found!

I'm on the admin side and I add the video's via ftp. 6 total vids at about 100MB each. When it completes the page is refreshed to what seems to be a front end template page but it has the /admin/ in the url:

http://www.mydomain.com/admin/index.php … upload_ftp

and all it says is the standard we're sorry statement.

I log back into the /admin side and the videos show converting and eventually convert.

any suggestions?

thanks....

#9 Re: Bug Reports » [FIXED] Error on updating user » 2012-03-06 03:28:55

Getting the following SQL error:

Query: INSERT INTO as1user_premium SET user_id = 3, start_date = '', end_date = '', credit = 0, status = '1' LIMIT 1
Error Message: You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'LIMIT 1' at line 7
Error Number: 1064

When I attempted to change the user's group from registered to admin.

is a fix laying around anywhere?

Thanks..

xtube isn't a dating site and that's where the idea came from.

This function has nothing what so ever to do with dating.. it's a global filter. Check out http://www.xtube.com/ which again, clearly isn't a dating website.

The function would allow someone to immediately filter videos based on what they want to see. Straight guys usually don't want to see dude's f'ing each other. So if they select male like female, the home page would be refresh to match content they would like to see. Videos with a gay tag wouldn't be included in that immediate search.

Hope that clarifies it a little. Nothing at all to do with dating.

On xTube at the top of the site there is a basic filter that lets people select if they are a male or female and they can select if they like men or women, which basically runs a quick filter to refresh the display so the screen shows videos they are more interested in without running an in-depth tag search.

Would it be possible to add this immediate filter function to ASP so that people could immediately filter videos they would like to view?

The filter matrix would be something as simple as:

Male like Male = gay tag
Male like Female = straight tag
Male like Male/Female = bi tag
Female like Male = straight tag
Female like Female = lesbian tag
Female like Male/Female = bi tag

And we could tag videos as bi, gay, lesbian, and straight.

How hard would this be to add? Anyone have ideas or has anyone done something like this?

Thanks...

In an "ideal" world, what would you suggest as the minimum configuration for a production server hosting a few thousand vids? RAM CPU (speed/qty), drive space vs drive configuration, etc., etc.

+1 here, too. that would be great to automate the process.

I've searched around and can't seem to find any actual documentation on a HOW TO for running a CSV imports and bulk FTP uploads.

I understand the assignments on the admin add page, but.. do you just bulk upload the videos to some directory and then put the the path to the actual video location? Or is just to scrape videos via embed function.

We have 1000's of videos and photos to upload to our server. We're not scraping content from other sites.

We don't have thumbs for them and want the conversion process to generate the thumbnail (s).

We're just looking for a semi-automated way to populate the content.

Thanks...

Regarding your previous reply, i've sent you a reply after i've read your email.

I think you whitelisted a wordpress upload file and not a file from Adult Script Pro. You have another rule that whitelists the entire domain that runs Adult Script Pro. White mod_security might bring some security to your site, it slows down the requests and it breaks a lot of servers. Also as a user you cannot disable it (you were able to disable mod_security 1 via .htaccess, but not mod_security 2).

I'm going to check your server again today and make sure that lighttpd also works.

The wordpress listed above is just an example for syntax. Not what I actually did..... I whitelisted the the whole domain in sec2.

Ok, so my problem may not be this problem that you are referencing.  I had an issue on import where after completion (it did import the videos, thumbs, etc) it went to a 404 page in the non-admin template.  It was not an issue for me so I never posted.  As far as my site goes, it is in holding as I am getting everything perfect before I launch.

a lot of people just put solved in the post but they never put what they did to solve it. So, below is the resolution to this issue. It's good posting standards to be sure to include what was actually done to solve a problem and not just put "i fixed it... "

SOLVED - it was the mod_security. You need to either not run mod_security on your server which is NOT suggested, or add a rule to whitelist or exclude the "offending" file.

To find out the proper syntax we need to figure out the error that is
occurring in the apache main error log.

Once you find that out we need to locate the proper whitelist or exclude file
for mod_security.

Below is an example but the exact syntax and file locations may
vary.

apache error log:
/usr/local/apache/conf/logs/error_log

sample error would look like: ModSecurity: Access denied with code 406 (phase
2). Pattern match "^Shockwave Flash" at REQUEST_HEADERS:User-Agent. [file
"/usr/local/apache/conf/modsec2.user.conf"] [line "203"] [hostname
"www.domainname.com"] [uri "/wp-admin/php/upload.php"] [unique_id
"byevW0Wnsx4AAGyHtncAAAA-"]

mod_security whitelist file:
/usr/local/apache/conf/modsec2/whitelist.conf

syntax to whitelist a domain would be something like:
SecRule SERVER_NAME "domain.com" phase:1,nolog,allow,ctl:ruleEngine=Off

We don't actually recommend whitelisting whole domains as whitelisting can be
setup per url.

Like i told you yesterday via email, mod_security is the problem. You will need to disable mod_security to make this work, or at least find and change the rules that prevent the upload from working. I will test with mod_security disabled today.

And I sent you a reply concerning that and you never replied. You can't just disable mod_security on the whole platform due to my other sites. If you read the email that I sent you earlier, which again, you never replied, you'll see what I asked..

when attempting to upload a video either as an admin or as a user, immediately after upload the page refreshes with a 404 Page within the template stating - We're sorry, the page you requested cannot be found! (it's within the ASP template).

any suggestions on a cause and a fix?

I've tested with MPG and FLV, same result. 404 immediately after upload.

I'm currently running SuPHP which means that I can't run APC. However, I'm using eAccelerator. I can't switch the handler to DSO due to requirements on another one of my websites.

Any suggestions or alternatives to APC for SuPHP?

Thanks...
