Something strange in guest limit.

Hello, I activate guest limit on my script 3 views.

It's okay on all another PC-s but on my own I don't see limit:

I log out , delete browser cache , change browser, change ip, reboot pc, try everything , reboot router... and don't see limit but actually from another PC-s I have guest limit.

Any idea why :-( and how the script detect me and don't give me guest restriction ... ?

Thanks just I am curious it's not necessary.

Is the limit still active ? I tested your site and i can watch far more than three Videos. No Limit.
As far as i see, this should work via iP, if understand the code correctly in modules/users/helpers/

The limit is three Videos ? Did you watch three videos full oder did you just start to stream three videos, lets say three seconds ? I use the latest chrome and can watch more than three Videos.

Thank You guys. Limit is 5 videos. I test with many ip-s and mozilla, chrome, opera and I don't see any limit. :-( I try from one friend pc and exactly on 5 videos he see please register account.

Is this strange ? Do you see 5 views limit ?

Amazing I install virtual pc software and test from there and again from my ip-s I have 5 ip-s don't see any problems to see I install this software open site and start watch and watch 20 videos and don't have limit...

This is from virtal pc that I never log in

Any ideas I'm just Surprised how this can work on all pc-s except my own

Yes I am sure. I install clear new browser, change my ip, reboot it and don't see limit :-(

Isn't guest limit based on user IP? If so maybe you have dynamic IP, changing everytime you load page....
Personally for my own use I set limits based on both: IP and user session

It can be implemented by both ip and session/cookies. In both ways there are limitations.

Possible reasons (more or less true :
- you are logged in :-)
- your IP is dynamic (and you dont know it)
- you have some special firewall/application

- you are logged in :-) : 100% sure that I am not logged I try 6 browsers (different) clear my cash etc...
- your IP is dynamic (and you dont know it) - I change my ip using router (mac address change) it's impossible tohave dynamic ip address I have 5 ip-s and change them by mac address
- you have some special firewall/application - I will research today I will try to disable my antivirus and will try again.

Please give me your sites to test limitation of them ? Maybe I have some firewall as symtab told.

Currently the default method to use is per IP. If you use cookies, the visitor can clean his cookies and he can watch tons of videos for free. Using the per IP method you can at least limit the IP and force the visitor to:
- to to a friend/neighbor/cafe and watch 3 more videos from there (and actually do some real life interaction)
- have a dynamic ip

I can setup a simple script on your site on Monday and we will see whats happening.

I change my OS I install linux for test and again from my pc don't have problem to watch videos without liimt. I never use this os to log in before on the site as guest / admin etc... I cant believe.

I connect my phone to my pc and use internet from there and I have limit from there. But when I use my 5 ip-s I don't have any limitation.

Another suggestion is to check "guest" table in database if it's not corrupted.
Such table is usually huge one, always possible to be corrupted. There are functions in mysql to repair table, or even truncate.
