Does someone have a program out there that automaticly signs up to the script because its this guy that has my server on automation hes making 100 names a day with differnt ips and i dont know why i turned registration off but hes still able to create names hes doing it to upload a few videos each day i know he cant possibly do this without software is there anyways to stop him i cant ban 100 ips

I do use it, I love it. I set it up and let it run 24/7 it definitely works to increase rankings. A little complicated to learn at first but, then you only have to do it once to set it up.

i need a way to stop this guy because hes hammering my server with this crap just making 100 nmaes daily every hour and when i turn off registration and uploading hes still doing it

I would add a text question, and also use re-captcha for the most part that will stop most automatic submissions.

im not a programmer i cant add that and that still wont stop him from hammering my server with request hes signing up and tryin to upload which is hammering my server hes using proxys and i cant keep banning all his ip he has new ones everyday

If your server cant handle the load then you have a crappy server to begin with, go on freelancer.com pay someone to add something like what I said to prevent the spamming and account sign ups. Yes, he can be using hundreds of proxies so banning ip's wont help you at all.

@ hodmedia yeah I just went on your site, and it seems very slow and not responsive. I have a very fast computer and fast internet, normally all sites for me load within a millisecond, yours takes more than 5 seconds to load. Something needs to be done. I would consider upgrading servers, what type of server are you using now?

my server runs fine i have a quad core with 8gig of ram i just need more ram i will be moving to a bigger server soon but the problem is i cant stop this guy when i even take registrtion off he still bombards my server with requests

I see his requests act almost like a ddos attack. I wonder if there's a way to set a timer for registration, like a human would take like 30 seconds to fill everything out, so it will not allow someone to submit a registration faster than that? Just an idea, if you want to use it.

I have the same happen to my site.
There were bots continuously creating accounts then uploading around the clock.

What I did was use one of Adrian features he added to the Admin panel.

If you go to Video > Config > Upload you will see a function for

1. "Upload enabled"
2. "Upload Permissions"
3. "Upload Limit"

Limit uploads only to moderators from the admin panel, this way only users that you promote to the Moderators group will be allowed to upload.
We also have a upload daily limit in versions >= 1.0.

That seemed to have stopped bots.

See how you go that might help.

thanks so much for your suggestion REV but sadly that will only stop him from uploading i need to stop him from bombarding my registration which is slowing down my site drasticly

Does he have access to your admin panel? Unless this is the case, disabling anonymous upload and setting upload permissions to moderators will stop this.I also had this problem on one of my sites and this is how i stopped it.

You can chose to add recaptcha, but that still wont prevent them 100%. I need to research this and find a good method to prevent SPAM.

multi choice questions/answers on sign up works for me on forums to prevent spam and account approval by admin if they are really persistant.

Yeah, i tried to prevent bots with every method: captcha, question/answer, math, secret input field...everything. The bots are still signing up on the forum, however to post a user requires approval. I will delete all users in the approval group and only the real users will remain. If you have any ideas that might work, i'm more than happy to try it out.

I can add latest recaptcha in the next version. Enable/disable via admin.
