Programs for mpg to mp4 streaming conversion?
Hi! any suggestion for convert mpg to mp4 for streaming? I have a lot of mpg videos for premium content, with a variable bitrate from 30000 to 10000 kbps. Obviously I need to convert (in mp4) and to add watermark with a maximum bitrate of 2000kbps but... I not found any software that give me an acceptable quality.
I see for example MOFOS promo videos with a bitrate of 800-1000kbps, others with 1500 and are good. I have Wondershare Video Converter, but my videos are very soft and they lose details after converting. Only Free Make Video Converter give me a good quality but not permit to add a watermark.

It's not the software, it's the computer. My old computer was a Intel Pentium 4 from Sony, conversion takes longer with okay quality (500MB to 320MB). Then i upgrade to Intel i7 3rd gen from Sony and i tell you what, it will convert like a bad mofo, quality looks great and size is less than half (500MB to 137MB).
So before you think bad about the softwares, make sure your PC have some power.

The type of computer you have doesn't change how a video renders in terms of quality.. just the amount of time it takes to process ..
For instance when rendering a video there are 2 core components of hardware that matter (CPU to process the data and RAM to handle the memory used by the application). So in DuttyRock's case using a P4 to render video is like a joke.. Pentium processors are like bottom of the barrel of the Intel line .. But the i7 line is one of the most powerful available for Intel .. for example:
Right now I'm using: Intel Core i7-4960X (3.6 Ghz with 6 cores) + 12GB DDR3 memory ... it chews through video like nothing else ..

Lol No jokes on the Pentium 4, had it since 2003 an that baby never gave me a problem....
Oh yes it does, type of computer power sure change the quality (note, hope you know when i say computer im not talking about brand, im talking what makes up the computer). Right now i have 2 servers, Xeon E3-1230v2 and Dual Xeon 5420. I copy the specs from E3-1230v2 to the 5420 thinking i will get same quality and it wasn't even close, 5420 size was bigger and quality was crappy.
Anyhow, try a more power PC an see what happens.

Ssd 24 gb ram and amd 8 core. All driver updated... amd is not intel but i don't think that the power is the problem. I make a lot of 3d image rendering with this pc with no problems
With licensed wondershare video converter i have bad results, other free programs like Free video converter working better but not yet enough

Yes I do understand computer meaning hardware not brand.. I only custom build rigs

Hey if were comparing computers on here lol Well...... I have a intel i7-3770k 3.5GHz overclocked to 4.1GHz liquid cooled 32GB RAM 3GB Video Card With a total of 9 fans 3 on the Graphics card, 6 on the case including a 10 inch fan on the side panel. If anyone does not believe me I can send you a picture. All custom built by me.

Hope thats not to play video games on, man, i just got Titanfall for PC (my first PC game ever) an i hate it, too close to computer an for some reason 24" monitor sucks for such fast game play.
Handbrake is super awesome, i remember this dude covert animes from 500MB to 89MB and quality was great.

To be honest I do not play too many games. I like the Fallout Games, Fallout New Vegas was awesome. I built my computer, because my company was doing really good and it paid for all the parts, I tried to get the best parts at the time. Almost 2 years old now.
