Pseudostreaming

I have pseudostreaming enabled in ACP and I had a system admin install/active pseudostreaming on the server (By watching the documentation on this forum) but the problem is that it is not cutting through the video. It seems to be still using progressive even though I have it as pseudostreaming in ACP.

Re: Pseudostreaming

Is the server configured to serve videos via pseudostreaming?

Re: Pseudostreaming

I believe so. Can you please elaborate?

They pretty much followed your tutorial on installing Pseudostreaming and then I went to ACP and disabled the secure thing and added the sites url.

Re: Pseudostreaming

You use nginx or lighttpd/apache?

Re: Pseudostreaming

Edit modules/video/player/config_common.php and replace:

?start=${start}

with:

&start=${start}

Re: Pseudostreaming

When I try cutting through the video now, it restarts from the starting spot. Basically, still seems to be streaming with Progressive.

Re: Pseudostreaming

You did not configure something correctly. Please paste the nginx config file for the host.

Re: Pseudostreaming

Hmmm...there needs to be a configuration for the domain you are using to pseudostream the videos. There you must add the config for the flv and mp4 streaming modules.

Re: Pseudostreaming

Are you saying that something is missing from the config I provided or should I need to do something else?

Re: Pseudostreaming

Mr Jacob, streaming modules must be properly installed on server and configured as well.
Setting it in script's ACP is not enough. This is option which depends on server setup.

Re: Pseudostreaming

The configuration you posted is the main nginx configuration. You also need a configuration block for your domain, and this config block must contain the lines for the flv and mp4 streaming modules. The config is included in NGINX.txt from the script archive.

Edited
Now I understand. What exactly do I have to do with the Nginx.txt file? Do I need to place it somewhere?

Re: Pseudostreaming

It depends on how your nginx server is configured. You also need to have a server {} for a domain block. The NGINX.txt contents go in that file. I recommend you buy the Pseudostreaming Setup service or hire a freelancer/server admin to do this for you.
