Hi,

We are planning to release the final version in October (i hope 1 october, but it depends on what bugs i find). The final version will cost 299$ and it will include all current features + Photo Support (already done, will be released in 1-2 days with BETA2), Premium Membership, Flash Player HTML/Javascript Ads, Video RSS Feed updates from affiliates and script updates from our servers (eg: you login to admin, and new updates will appear, you click update and your site is up2date).

You will also be able to buy the script by module, each module separate, for example video module (frontend and backend part, without mass grabber, mass csv and mass rss import modules) for a small price, same for photo and so on.

Please let me know if you have any questions or ideas.

You wrote about the InVideo ads, is this on the list for a RC or will it be implemented in a Beta Stage before the Relase ?

I played around with the content plugin for flowplayer.....thats too much for me

Hi,

In-Player HTML/Javascript ads will be done before the BETA is finished. The plan is like this:
BETA3 - premium membership/multi-language (+ some small design changes necesary to the header) - this week (or next week, worst case)
BETA4 - video rss feed updates from affiliates (you just configure it, let cron do the job for you), in-player html ads - once beta3 is done + 2 weeks
RC1 - 1 week of testing non-stop (mysql optimizations, code optimizations + some scalling testing, make sure it works for 100.000 users or more on one server)

BETA3 was supossed to be released yesterday and it actually did, however only 1 client installed the new version, he found a few bugs, i fixed and we are going to release the BETA3 version today (or in the worst case tomorrow). I'm still fixing some bugs, doing installs and in 1-2 hours i will also try upgrades.

After BETA3 is released we will release RC1 (which will contain the following additional features, support for zombaio/epoch (currently paypal and ccbill are supported), support for html/javascript player overlay ads, support for mass video FTP uploads, support for mass album FTP and archive (zip/tar/gzip..) upload, support for mass RSS video importing from affiliates). I dont have a exact date, however i think it can take from 2 to 4 weeks (depending on how many bugs BETA3 has).

After RC1 is released, in 1-2 weeks we will release the final version. The final version will contain no new features, however we will run a overall optimization and security checks.

Optimizations planned:
- depending on what we discover we will optimize the database (keys, fulltext keys..., normalization)
- depending on what we discover we will optimize the php code (no to much to do here...) (webgrind and kcachegrind will be used)
- we will run extensive teste using apache/mysql stress tools to figure a theoretically (or speculative) number of views at the same time (or / minute) or script can handle on one server (with/without caching....)

Security checks:
- we will use available security testing tools
- if we find serious security bugs we will hire a security specialist to help us (i'm confident in my security knowledge, i have experience, however we can never be sure
about security, even if we had a 1000 persons working, there is still possible to have security problems...see some other scripts/OS's).

Once done we will release our final version. After final version we will focus on the upgrade system (currently its done manually, we want to do it via administration panel) and
script protection (player will work only on 1 domain, you will be able only to install the script if you have a license, you can only upgrade if you have a license). Nothing will be encrypted though.

Forgot, BETA3 contains the following features:
- premium membership (with support for paypal/ccbill, subscription and pay per view support)
- multi-language (this is the reason why this version was delayed, it was to slow, however we managed to make it almost as fast as the one without multi-language)
- admins can search for advertising and sponsors in the administration panel
- small design changes (search available on the top of the page, no more top-header advertising banner, more space for menu items)
- users can chose what to upload on the upload page (currently videos/photos, in the future dvds, pornstars, sites, music...whatever we will support)
- optimizations and other bug fixes

Me again :-) forgot about the documentation, once we finish everything we will write documentation accesible from both script (admin only) and our website. Documentation will contain everything you need to know from server configuration, installation, content/media management and some tips/tricks.

BTW...if you want more visitors enter description for video categories and videos and in 2-3 weeks you will get a lot of hits. Its what i did for my site (like almost 1 year ago) and in 1 month i had 10.000 uniques (droped now, but i didnt update the site for like 9 months). Sorry for hijacking this topic...
