Hello,
When i go to Tools - Sitemap and Videos Sitemap and change Max items items from "45000" to "1000", the sitemap modify accordingly.
But when i go to Tools - Cron Scripts and Run Sitemap and Video Sitemap crons or wait for the cron to update, it goes back to default Items "45000" in config and in the sitemap xml.

Hmm..you can only force this in admin/modules/tools/helpers/sitemap.php and replace 45000 with 1000.
