[NOT A BUG] CSV Import - not validating file
I don't know how critical this is or if its by design, but in admin/modules/csv/csv.php it is supposed to check the file type (I am assuming extension) for csv which it does not. You can use any extension (csv, txt, rtf - tested) and it will process which is great by me. I don't know it this is programmed behavior or the checking function not working. Just a thought.

Is it the same as saving each file including the extention? Will it still work like normal?

Yes it is fine. If I could delete this whole thread, I would. It was a mistake on my part not understanding one of the framework functions.
