Thumbnail converter to photo gallery?

Is it possible that you can make it so either automatically or selectable when uploading a video that you can select a thumbnail and add it to the photo section? I think if you can make it so the quality is good, this could be a good idea to help fill up the photo section easily.

Would be nice! +1 More so, just reuse the thumbs or make 1 good quality, and add it to the DB but not duplicate the file so drive space is preserved. Would be awesome if it auto-added to categories as well.

Well i dont really undertstand how this is suppossed to work. So basically extract thumbs from videos (at the video size) and also create a album for that video?

Just an album in the DB and add it in its appropriate category (just like vids). Basically, I have over 400,000 photos (thumbnails) on my server but I have 0 photos. This would be an awesome way to prepopulate the photos section. It could have a default album of videos, then sub albums via title. Obviously, I wouldn't want to duplicate every photo from the thumbs so its more of a sym link.

this will work only if you upload HD videos otherwise the photos quality that have been made from video will be low.

True, but we have thousands of photos that basically sit idle unless that video is found (same would go for photos as well). It would be nice to dual purpose those photos, you know?

Yeah it would work best on HD videos, but if you can take at least 1 photo from each video and make sure it is not downsized, then you can have tons of photos in your photo section, with out doing any extra work. I think this could help everyone.

I will add this in 1.2. You will be able to select which videos (what width/heigh) and what format will be considered for photo album creation, also you will be able to select how many big photos will be extracted from each video.

I also have a idea of plugs for 1.2. Anyway tons of ideas, working non-stop to finish 1.0 :(It has new features and tons of bug fixes and months late
