So I've Noticed a Trend...

I've been doing research on starting a tube site, and a pattern seems to have formed.  Many people get into this business and boast about their tube site they're doing, but often when you see a thread that's a year or two old (not just here, but in many forums I've seen), the sites are down.  Why is it that people invest all the startup money to get the scripts and then a year or two later, their sites are nowhere to be found?  Is this just a really difficult industry to break into, or is it entirely a lost cause?  Or perhaps, it's something simpler than that, such as, it's still possible to be a newcomer and become highly successful with a tube site, but people are not willing to work at it?  My assumption would be the third of the three, but I'd like some clarification on this if possible.  I'd like to get going with a tube site, I like what I've seen from Adult Script Pro, but two things are keeping me from locking into a decision about this script.  The first thing is Adult Video Script, and the second is Smart Tube Pro.  All three scripts look great and I see features from each that I really appreciate.  I hear Mechbunny is great, too, but anyway...

So yeah, my heart is 102% in creating a tube site that will eventually replace my full-time job.  Is it even possible with a premade script such as this, or is it just some fairytale fantasy?  I don't want to be "Just another Tube Site", so I have several ideas already in mind, for how I can be different.  I don't expect for anyone to say "Oh, you can make $1,000/day in 6 months if you work really hard on it" or anything, but rather, just let me know that it's possible to enter the game with a premade script (which will be modified over time via outsourcing (until I get a grasp of PHP syntax)), as a small fish in an ocean full of sharks, and come out successful.  I'd consider "successful", when I can earn at least $300/day from this.  Of course, when I hit that point, I should be able to more easily scale up from there.

Anyway, this trend I've noticed....  Does it only apply to the weak -- the ones that either didn't put a solid prolonged effort into their business and / or gave up before they achieved success?  Or do even the committed ones falter into the inevitable abyss?

Re: So I've Noticed a Trend...

Well, from what I gathered, STP does in fact have a premium section, by default, integrated into their basic tube script purchase, but I you seem pretty spot-on with everything else you said.  The picture gallery feature isn't much of a big deal to me, and honestly, I doubt I'd even use it.  Hopefully it can be disabled.  I'll be using enough bandwidth as-is, with the videos.  I do appreciate your input, and I will you well in your endeavors!  When I arrive at around my 1-year mark, I want to begin building a porn-ring with others that have websites on the rise, and are getting good views.  I've spent the last 3 years, studying SEO, so I'm hoping I can apply that knowledge in a major way to this project.

this is what i was looking at for the STP demo

http://demo1.smarttubepro.com/

and i did not see the premium feature

it has a free membership community sign-up,

but i didn't see anything where people pay extra for a premium section, as is included with ASP

They have it listed on their "Features" page, @ http://smarttubepro.com/?view=features
It's about halfway down.

But yeah, AVS forums are filled with decent ideas but the AVS script seems to be lacking in said forum ideas.  That could be a problem.
So now, it's pretty much between ASP and STP.  I am really liking both!

another script you forgot to mention is

the reason why i will be going with ASP over STP is because of the support

being a aged and debilitated newbie, i need all the support i can get (and i'm not talking about my cane and walker)

Oh no, I didn't forget to mention that one...  I was simply not interested in it.  tongue

Re: So I've Noticed a Trend...

Please also check this comparation: http://www.ngcoders.com/downloads/misc/vcompare/ (its done by a third party).

Regarding the script, i cant say very much about Smart Tube Pro, because i didnt use it, positive it could be that its established, and negative its encoded. However about Adult Video Script (AVS), nobody knows the script better than me, because i coded it like 3 almost 4 years ago. I'm not going to tell you which to buy, but what i can promise you is that if you buy Adult Script Pro i will always try to help you make more money (with ideas and features you need) and i will try to provide a very good support.

Most clients that are successful have the site for like 1 year, you have to invest, not as much in a template, but in backlinks, traffic, content and find the best PPS/PPC that work for you site. You can go nieche or general adult tube, i personally like the nieche, because we have many domains (some convert at 1:500 some at 1:1000, and rebills are good), but in the long run, both methods will make you money. You have to work, its not easy, invest a lot of time and be patient, dont quit after 1-2-3 months if it doesnt work.

Whatever decision you make i wish you all the luck with your new site.

Yeah, right now, I'm leaning towards Adult Script Pro....  I am prepared for the journey.  I know it's not going to find me success overnight, but I have a solid feeling it can and will snowball into something great over the next few years.  Hopefully, I can set a reasonable goal of having the site be able to profit ~$200/day by this time next year with a great deal of hard work each and every day.  With that much money, I'll take the pay cut and make this site my full time job.  I can survive off of $1400/week for a while, and as I mentioned earlier, I'd only scale up from there.  I'll be making my purchase soon.

I like the support I see here!

Well that would be nice!  Not to burst the bubble - and I do hope you make that much - but even some of the top sites here are not making $200 a day.  If you do, please come back and tell us how you did it! smile

That's very..... encouraging....
I'd like to know what some of the more successful people are earning after putting in a few months/years worth of work into their sites, if they don't mind sharing such information.  I thought $200/day would be on the moderately low end of the successful tube site spectrum.

the operative word is "successful tube site"

Well, let me put it this way.  The best you can probably do with JuicyAds and in my opinion they pay the best, is about $1/1000 unique.  That is for non redirects.  With redirects, which ultimately is costing you traffic, you might get $2-3/1000.  This also assumes you are running several ads but you are running a risk of having too many ads.  You real money is in selling your own ads, but you have to have a lot of traffic to make it.  So assuming you are not an insane amount of traffic site - like 100K+/day, then realistically you are getting those numbers.  Most successful sites are probably getting about 10-30K in traffic a day, so the math is about $20-30 a day US.

Getting traffic is not all that "difficult".  Anyone who has been doing this will tell you the problem is maintaining it.  Good content, good layout, good value, and good marketing is what it takes.  Its not as simple as slap a tube-site up and make millions - if it was, I would be a millionaire! smile  You absolutely have to spend time marketing.  It takes money to get this going, time, and patience.  If you do all of these things, you definitely can make money at this game.

I don't know, others may disagree, but thats how I see it!

How are sites like tube8, spankwire, etc, getting millions of uniques per day?  Why are none of these sites doing it?

This is going to be my strongest area.  I've spent roughly the last few years of my life, studying and practicing IM.  I know I'll be able to drive massive organic and targeted traffic.  I just need to finish my rough draft of how I want my site to look and operate.

They are investing tons of money in backlinks and traffic, and they are established sites. Some of them have more than 4000 sites in their network (freeporn.com for example).

VVat???

All that, and not over 1m uniques per day??

Yes, I'd imagine a ton of time and cash would need to be invested in creating qualitative and quantitative backlinks.  Since these are porn tube-based sites, have you or anyone ever experienced being sandboxed from an abundance of links at a rapid pace?  I mean, by default, links to these types of sites should be rather plentiful and at a bit of an accelerated pace, but have any of your sites, or sites of this nature spent time doing the google dance as a backlink punishment?  I already have my 1st 3 phases of SEO planned out.

I'm telling you, by this time next year, I want no less than 50k uniques per day visiting my site.  My goal is to hit 100k uniques per day, but that's going to be really hard, as I'm starting as newbie a PR0.  If I can make PR3 by this time next year, I'll be happy.  Will be really hard, but I've done it before on non-adult sites.  I think I should be able to wing this.

I ment some of the big sites like freeporn.com, pornhub.com and so on. I dont know that much about SEO yet (i dont have time to learn), but i think content and backlinks are the most important parts.

Oh, I thought pornhub was just part of an 8 or 9-site network with only the sites at the top, included.

Spending Money Does Not means You get PR And It Good SEO You have To Check How Much Money Increased And How Much Traffic And For Which Keywords Increase. Nobody Knows All things But As Per Me PR3 What you Say Is Easy When i Buyed My Domain I Got PR 2 In 1 Month And After 6 Months Of Traffic My Site Is On PR 3 So PR Does Not matters Traffic Matters And I Use Softwares Why to pay When Its Free You have tO Work By Yourself To Earn Something.

Well PR does help with ranking in the SERPs.  It does matter.  It's good that you got PR3 in a matter of months!  Awesome job with that!  How are you ranking for your main keyword(s)?

Also, you only embed?

Re: So I've Noticed a Trend...

I'd have to say that people get into this thinking it'll be easy and, well, that's bullshit. You need to know system admin stuff (I've been a Linux system admin for 3 years), and web design/development. Or, you need to pay someone to do it for you, which, well, costs A LOT. Then, the server required to support it, the time it takes, etc. Plus, there are 100s of these tube sites and no one is making it unique enough.

Re: So I've Noticed a Trend...

The problem with the online adult industry and making money is that most sites... suck.  Just because you buy a script and set it up on a server doesn't mean people are going to like using it.  Design is everything.  Apple Computer is the richest company in the world because their stuff LOOKS and WORKS great.

There is NO other industry in the world that has so many people who want the product.

There is NO other industry in the world that needs new product DAILY.

People fail at Tube Sites and Adult in general because they don't treat the business like a business.

As far as tube scripts go, there are many out there.  AVS, AdultWatch, Mechbunny are there of the most popular.  If you want to spend $1000 on a script than Mechbunny is the way to go.  If you want to spend less, and get A LOT more features - ASP!

Everyone has to remember - ASP ISN'T EVEN RELEASED YET.  IT'S STILL IN TESTING!  Version 1 = Production website.  So, there is a lot to look forward too!

I love my site.  I love this industry.  I feel I'm trying many things to make my site unique, and I still have a very long way to go!!  I find time to work on my site, each and every chance I get, and I will continue to do so, until my fingers bleed, and even then, I'll wrap them up and keep working!  I'm not seeing any real results yet, as my site is only earning about 15 cents per day, but I have a good feeling about 4 or 5 months from now.
