Categories Issue

I created a couple of categories and added some embedded video.

On the main site when I click the Categories tab at the top it takes me to the category page and I see the categories I created.

When I click on one of the categories it says:

"We're sorry, the page you requested cannot be found! "

Also at the top I only see the 'Slug' instead of the category name:  http://www.mysite.com/0001/

Is this me or the script?

Re: Categories Issue

Go it.  So the 'Slug' has to match the category name.  So if I had "Test" as the category name "test" would be the slug.

Re: Categories Issue

None of my slugs match the category names.  I believe the slug is just how the URL will look, when someone is on that part of your page.

Re: Categories Issue

I had my site online earlier and I'm in the process of switching hosting so I can't test out another slug name.  Though I had a category called 'Default' and the slug called '0001' and whenever I tried to select the category in the main site it gave me a page not found error.  When I switched the slug name to 'default' everything worked fine.  Once I set the site back up I will try something different.  If you want try to change the slug name of one of your categories to 0001 and see if that category works in video categories maybe you can duplicate the error that I got.  I just got the script yesterday so I have the latest version.

Re: Categories Issue

The category SLUG is a identification string that is part of the URL, it can be match the category name or not, it does not matter. It can contain only letters, numbers and -. Did you copy the .htaccess file?

Re: Categories Issue

I copied everything / didn't change the .htaccess.

I'm switching servers, so I don't have the site online to test again.  But when I used 0001 as the slug, it didn't work.  Using the same name as the category did work though.

Re: Categories Issue

Use something with letters and numbers, not only numbers.
