Open Link in new tab/window

Whenever I click on a link in this forum it opens in the same page.  Then I close out the page.  ARRRR!

It would be great if all the links on the forum opened in a new window so that I don't keep closing out the forum.  I keep forgetting to use the back button!

Yea, I keep closing out the forum.  I can't tell you how many times I've done it.

I guess the golden rule of the web should apply... you should never redirect someone off your site.  Always a new page.

Re: Open Link in new tab/window

All forums work like ours. It should be ok, just use Open In New Tab or Back/Index click.

Re: Open Link in new tab/window

Adrian you can setup the http://rdrct.com/ service in the acp.

It is a redirection service to anonymously forward your link through to the destination server whilst shedding the origin referring url.
By using this service, the destination site will never be able to tell who has linked to their site.

To use this service, simply structure your link as follows:

http://rdrct.com/http://destination.com/full/url.html

...or a user can 'right click' over the link.  In the gray box you can select 'open link in new tab'

I do this all over the web.  Works great.  Just need to make it a habit and right click.

This.

I know such a thing could be frustrating to someone not used to right-clicking a lot, but right-clicking is a great practice!  It can potentially save your computer from all sorts of nifty malware and virii!  Once you get used to right-clicking, it's not so bad.

Right click?  I do everything from the command line.  Doesn't everyone?

If you're clicking on the links from the command line, then you're a boss. wink
