Current state of RC1

Hi,

So here's what has been added in RC1:

* Advertising Related:
- flash player overlay text and image advertising
- flash player media (image/flv/mp4/swf) pre-roll/mid-roll/post-roll advertising
- overlay advertising for videos that are embedded from other sites
- new advertising spots for the forum
- new advertising spot global (can also work with per category) just below the menu
- new per category advertising for the video category page and video view page (right of the flash player)

* Premium Module Related:
- you can set your videos to play for 10 (or any number of seconds you want) and then it displays a signup or login banner
- you can use a pre-roll to market your premium videos (just for the looks, doesnt do anything else)

* Video Importing Related:
- you can mass import videos via RSS Feeds (assign sponsors to the videos, set it to work automatically with cron)

* Embedding Related:
- you can make the mass embedder via cron now automatically detect the category (works in 70-80% of the cases, there is no way
to make it 100%).

* Template Related (also SEO)
- the menu can be now extended with a submenu (submenu items can be managed from the admin panel)
- all headings that were not in order in the templates were removed (replaced by div class="content-box-title"...)
- headings are in good order for video view, album/photo view, pornstar view, forum
- you can set a limit for the video slug (you can limit how long the urls are)
- the logo is no longer h2 (just a link)
- added a simple popular tag cloud widget (can be on the left side or footer)

* Pornstar Importing Related:
- the actual pornstar importer (CSV/RSS) is there, but no affiliate can provide the required data (talked with twistys, vidz and videosz). I was not able to test this,
but once a affiliate provides the required data, i can test it.

* Link Related:
- links can actually be hardlinks now (you can set it from the admin, for each link)

* Categories Related:
- subcategories are now supported (only one parent-child method, can be enabled/disabled from admin, if you dont want subcategories you can just disable it and
nothing will change on your site)

* Performance related:
- CDN support (forgot this the first time, just a few adjustments and its workings for thumbs, templates js/css/images and also works with videos, if you chose to use a CDN supported by flowplayer)

What i'm thinking to do in the following days (until monday):
- add a simple news area (just a simple html editor in the backend, date order...like a simple blog)
- add support for twitter on video uploads
- make the sitemap a sitemap index so we can actually index everything, also the ability to have a valid video sitemap

I think that concludes RC1, however if you have anything that you consider its needed, just let me know. Please consider that after RC1 for at least 1 month we will not add
any features (we want to redesign our presentation site, stress the scripts for optimizations, create our upgrade servers so you can update directly from admin).

What comes after 1.0, probably all features in the Feature Request forum, starting with groups, redesigning the user permissions (so that we can have more control), dvds and a affiliate system.

Is there a way to have the news on the front page, above the recently watched movies perhaps in the same type of box? It'd be great to communicate with our users if it's possible...

IE9 will never run on XP ( great...i wonder why did they even make IE9, it will clearly suck compared to the rest of the browsers. Does anyone have IE9 and can met up on messenger to talk and test a few things in IE9?

IE9 javascript problems fixed (and the design actually looks the same as on Firefox/Opera/Chrome).

I read here and to be honest: It is a shame that every fucking browser needs a different coding technique. This would me drive nuts. Why just not drop support for IE? LOL

Neah, if nobody would use IE, i would for sure drop it, however 60% of the market is IE. It works now, in IE9, so no worries.

Sitemap finished. Sitemap was already in Admin -> Tools -> Sitemap, so what changed:

- it will not generate a sitemap index, instead of a normal sitemap, and the index contains separate sitemaps, it will index everything, and it does not matter that you have 100.000 videos and 235.000 users and 18.400 photo albums, it will split the content in separate sitemap files and add them to the index
- a new tool to generate a video sitemap file (same its a sitemap index, that contains video sitemaps)

Basically the above changes allow you to create sitemaps no matter how much content you have.

I'll work some more on 2 new templates (simple, only css) and then its done. I apologise for the contstant delay. I just want to add as many small/important features as possible right now.

Looking forward to the updates and the release. Im not worried about the delay because I know your are making sure all features are added and working properly.
