#26 Open Discussion » Video Title/Description Vs Meta Title/Description » 2015-02-20 07:33:10

Hey guys,

if I create unique title and description for videos, will this roughly be doing the same as adding an additional unique meta title and meta description? Or is it better to have one two sets of unique titles and descriptions as seen below?

Video 1
Title: Best of A 2014
Description: Let's take a look at the best of A during 2014

Meta Title: All time best of A in 2014
Meta Description: Let's see the all time best of A in 2014

Currently adding unique title/description to both video and meta video fields, but not sure if I'm wasting my time doing the extra one. I do notice that the meta info appears on the video pages, so I would think this is better.

Thanks!

Unsure what happened, but all the correct fields are now displayed. Up and running now, no problems. Thank you!

That's right, fresh install. Emptied original files and the database, then installed the ASP Version 1.2.2 that you forwarded to me just a few days ago. Where the videos -> config there is nothing related to FFProbe, no fields to fill out. Is there a way to manually edit this FFProbe information?

Hey Symtab, I have the base path, but no where to put this. In the video -> config -> conversion there is nothing related to ffprobes or any additional paths apart from 'FFMpeg Path', 'Yamdi Path' and 'QT-FastStart Path' which all check green, good. Where do I insert the base-path? Thank you for the help!

Hey guys,

The problem:
When using the Graber I receive error "Failed to load downloaded video file! Invalid video format!?".

The possible cause:
I've been doing a fresh install and seemed to have got everything right, except for the FFProbe error under System Check "FFprobe tool path was not set in the Video configuration! Video conversion will not work correctly!".

Versions:
FFMpeg version is 2.2.1 and the local path being /usr/local/bin/ffmpeg which must be correct as all FFmpeg items on the System Check are green.
ASP Version 1.2.2
Graber Version 1.0.16

The install is fresh and this is the only issue remaining. I checked under all 'admin -> config' and 'Video -> Config' to locate the FFprobe tool path, but there were no fields for this. Would this be the cause and how can I fix this?

Thanks guys, cheers!

#31 Re: Troubleshooting » Duplicate Error Adding Videos » 2015-02-07 05:53:00

The videos work if I manually change the Video ID and the /flv/ video name to match up with what's added, but each video being added is stuck at video ID 0 and creates a duplicate error. I re-installed the Video table again as you mentioned, but it still persists. This is causing some major disruptions, so any help would be appreciated! Thanks Symtab

The following error appears when grabbing and attempting to host videos..

Query: INSERT INTO video SET user_id = 2, title = 'Fucking', slug = 'fucking', description = '', type = 'public', ext = 'flv', size = 31112211, add_date = '2015-02-03 11:11:37', add_time = 1423026697, status = 5
Error Message: Duplicate entry '0' for key 'PRIMARY'
Error Number: 1062

Previously had a large number of embed videos on my site, removed these through the dashboard and ever since I have not been able to add videos as the above error appears. Removed the Video table on my database through MyPHPAdmin and added it again through '/install/sql/', but issue continues.

Currently I have 1 video on the site and it appears with Video ID '0' and no other videos can be added as it keeps on trying to be added as Video ID '0'.

I suspect that it might have something to do with the previous large amount of embeds that I had on the site, but I removed through properly through the dashboard and not touching any physical files.

Appreciate the help!

Hi guys,

are there anyways to reset the video ID numbers? I have about 20K worth of embeds removed through the dashboard, but all the other new hosted videos are stuck with video ID numbers of 20,000 or more.

Should I be removing this on the server as well or the dashboard can remove the embeds cleanly?

Thanks!

Just adding on this, I have hosted about 40 or so videos now. Pretty empty, but I'm just testing it. My server HDD is 500gb, but also 50% full with just this many videos. Can you let me know if the videos being hosted or embed are deleted on the server fully when I delete them in the admin dashboard? Seems I'm holding a lot of excess data that I need to clear.

Would you recommend focusing on less videos (1tb initial hdd) and hosting my own or embed the majority and slowly build up hosting?

Are there anyways to have videos on your site auto categorize itself again? This would help organize videos that are already on the site.

Thanks for the input, Eri. I guess in regards to the hosting of my own full video content, I'll have to do ye olde' trial and error. Wish me luck!

Hey guys,

I've almost got my first site going live and I'm looking into content as it's what the site revolves around. Just a few questions about hosting your own content, any advice is appreciated.

1: Do you only host content from the big sites? There's a lot of other sites out there with good content that aren't apart of the main list for ASP and I'm unsure of their ownership, so legality issues come to mind.

2: I've seen some sites host full length videos that go from 60 minutes to 4 hours. An example site is below, would it be wise to avoid hosting full length videos such as this for legal issues?
Example - http://javfor.me/

3: Any advice and tips on hosting your own content instead of simply embedding everything?

Basically I'm just wondering to what extent can I host my own content (USA Server) and what content while avoiding problems with DCMA.

Thank you,

James

Can you recommend a site ( sponsor ) where you can get these images?

Hey guys,

I'm building a new site with the ASP script and wanted an opinion on the most recommended player. I see the options for Flow player and JW player, but I didn't find much on which one is better and why.

Thanks in advance
